Leyland Warriors 10 v 28 Pilks A | | 17 Oct 09 |
A good all round team performance helped Pilks to well deserved win.
After a solid start from Pilks, skipper Andy Fairhurst stepped through the defence to open the scoring.
A barnstorming run from Andy Burns brought a second try and Ben Gravener finished off a fine attack to cross for Pilks third try.
This gave a well drilled Pilks team directed by scrum half Danny Lynch a comfortable 16 nil half time lead.
Leyland fought back with a couple of early tries in the second half but a further try from Burns maintained the cushion.
Right at the death a clever inside pass from Lynch put Mike Wilson in to seal the win for Pilks.
This was a much improved perfomance and best for Pilks were midfield general Danny Lynch, workhorse Ian Marren and double tryscorer Burns.
